How we work
Design & Production
We believe in the value of timeless pieces that last beyond a specific trend. Each edition is limited we are only able to produce garments as long stock of fabric lasts.
Each garment is produced with the zero waste production principle in mind. All excess fabric is saved or used for creating smaller detailing such as hanging loops or scrunchies. All garments is handmade locally in Denmark. All materials are either vintage, from dead stocks or sourced from smaller suppliers of fabric in Europe.
About Loving The Past
Sourcing is a part of the design process. When working with vintage fabrics some only in scrap size it can’t help influence the design proces of each garment in a very head-on way. This is a challenge we are always ready to take. The value of each garment is forever increased if we are able to include small historic and sentimental scraps from the past.
A need to touch
The core of Allete is to work with surfaces, textures and tactility. Textiles works as a confidential conversation partner in the process of creating narratives within surface and shape. Textiles allure us because of their intimate character. We insist on keeping hand stitching as a primary element in my creations. It is the manual touch of the hand – the craftsmanship that builds the base for understanding Allete as a universe.
